Access to an expert - AutoCAD Electrical with Zi Yao

Zi YaoRedstack's defining feature is its ability to offer industry-specific solutions across a number of sectors in Australia. As an applications engineer with the company, I'm tasked with ensuring a diverse range of clients have their electrical design and development needs met by our products and support.

Like all industries, this comes complete with its own set of challenges that mean off-the-shelf solutions are not enough to solve every problem. Understanding that all businesses and industries are unique has been a key method of operation for Redstack. Providing software or training that is only applicable in some scenarios is not acceptable, we offer complete solutions for our clients.

The first step for us is understanding our clients process and unique requirements.  We can then select the right products and solutions to meet their needs. While the standard AutoCAD software may be perfect for a range of applications, it doesn't have the specific features that some design processes, such as electrical, require.

We often see our clients improve their productivity significantly when moving from a general design tool to more specialised software that will better meet their unique requirements. This is where AutoCAD Electrical comes in, it builds on the very popular AutoCAD features that are loved across multiple industries in Australia and around the world and adds specific, easy to use features for the electrical industry.

AutoCAD Electrical is about providing a more efficient and effective workflow process for design and production. Costly errors need to be identified and remedied before projects are finalised to ensure that construction runs smoothly.

To help with this, AutoCAD Electrical includes the option for real time error checking, as well as automatic project reports to keep track of changes throughout the development process. We have estimated that AutoCAD Electrical offers a productivity increase of up to 80 per cent over AutoCAD software that isn't optimised for the unique challenges of the industry.

This approach is continued down to the smallest parts of each project, with coil and contact cross referencing in real-time to ensure that relays are not overloaded. This is all automated, greatly reducing the amount of micro-management required to keep a design in check.

Built on the AutoCAD foundation, the files are exported in DWG format, enabling for easy transmission of files to clients or team members in other departments. Any changes the recipients make are then compiled in a report, allowing for effective and efficient collaboration.

Of course, this would all be next to useless without our support network backing things up. Our clients need training and ongoing support to get the most out of these programs. Not only that, it needs to be expert support, as we have to be one step ahead.  We acknowledge that different industries require specialised support options, with electrical engineering projects demanding software and knowledge unique to that sector. This is where my previous experience benefits Redstack and its clients. As an expert in AutoCAD Electrical, our clients can be sure that when they have a problem or require training, they are dealing with a highly qualified expert.

We recommend anyone looking to purchase specialised software ensures their vendor is able to provide a high level of training and support.  If you’re going to make the investment in the software, you should also ensure you have the appropriate training and support to maximise the return on your investment.  Our clients need to know that when they call, they are speaking with an expert in their field.

Ultimately, Redstack provide a complete solutions focused approach, which involves understanding our clients requirements and delivering the software, hardware, training, services and support to best support business objectives.
