Autodesk have announced a number of changes to their policies and licensing. Here is a simple overview of the four changes coming soon and what you need to know about them:
1. End of perpetual licenses for individual Autodesk Products - 31 January 2016
As of 31 January 2016, most individual Autodesk products will only be available as a desktop subscription (pay-as-you-go) license.
2. End of perpetual licenses for Autodesk Design and Creation Suites - 31 July 2016
As of 31 July 2016, almost all Autodesk products will only be available as a desktop subscription (pay-as-you-go) license.
3. Network license changes
Once the sale of perpetual licenses has ceased, there will be limitations around what you can do in regards to network licensing those products. If you anticipate any need for network licensing into the future, we strongly recommend arranging network licenses now while perpetual licensing options are still available.

4. Late renewals will no longer be accepted
As of February 1, 2016, you will not be able to renew your perpetual license subscriptions once your due date has passed. In the past, Autodesk software owners could pay a late fee to renew their licenses after the due date. This will no longer be an option, if you do not renew your license, you will lose all your subscription benefits from Autodesk and your only way of getting back onto a current version of your software will be to purchase a desktop subscription license. It's more important than ever that you pay on time and do not lose the investment you have made in your Autodesk perpetual licenses.
If you are a Redstack client, you will receive multiple communications leading up to your subscription renewal date to ensure you are aware of this change and have every opportunity to renew your licenses and keep your subscription benefits.
