Creating sketches in Autodesk Inventor is done while in Sketch Mode. The sketch environment has everything you need to create your sketches, including many tools and commands. However, while you’re working on your sketch, the Sketch Mode keeps snapping to an imaginary grid, and you can’t find anything in the tools and commands to prevent this from happening.
How can I prevent the sketch mode from snapping to an imaginary grid?
This can be easily fixed by deselecting the Snap to Grid option at the bottom of the screen.
By deselecting the Snap to Grid option, you will now be able to create lines in your sketch that don’t adhere to the grid.
