Around six months ago, after a series of discussions, I was given the opportunity to be a member of Redstack team on the ground in Queensland. Given Redstack's success in Victoria and South Australia, I jumped at the chance to work with Redstack in the Sunshine State.
Through my role as a support technician for manufacturing, I am in the fortunate position to bring a wealth of Autodesk knowledge to a specialised reseller, meaning Redstack and its clients can benefit from my years of experience with the systems.
My current specialisation within the company is with Plant Design Suite, perfect for both upstream and downstream production of 3D models for a range of applications. The suite allows for extensive planning and design processes to be undertaken within the one system, with ease of use a key aim for the software.
This suite is excellent for the production of complex structures involving pipe works, with the software being used to plan installations such as oil refineries and gas plants. The operation of such structures is dependent on efficiency and safety, so having our clients put their faith in the software for these purposes is a worthy endorsement.
I enjoy seeing the difference my work makes for our clients across a diverse range of industries. For example, I’ve been able to assist a leading designer and fabricator of customised stainless steel, duplex metals and aluminium equipment. Through the delivery of CAD and data management training, I have assisted the client in achieving their goals of innovation, quality, productivity and service. This is just one of many examples where we are partnering with Australian businesses, assisting them in achieving their goals and objectives.
The move provides potential for personal growth as well, with options to expand my skills as the company's presence develops. Within a year, I can see the expansion of the Queensland team being a necessary development. As this progresses I'd like to take the opportunity to engage in more face-to-face meetings with clients, creating a more personal relationship, as well as allowing me to see the practical applications of our software.
There are challenges in competing with more established resellers of course, but there are also advantages in being involved in such a competitive marketplace. As our presence within the region grows, we will be able to offer a fresh face to clients who might not have the opportunity to use our services before. Due to my previous time in the industry, I've retained a number of contacts who are open to the products and services Redstack can supply.
Ultimately, the key to success in Queensland depends on adapting to activities in the industries Redstack services. With manufacturing and construction picking up around the region, there is the potential to expand alongside these areas, and offer support for a wider range of our products. Recently we have added drones, 3D printers and Apple hardware to our already extensive product lineup, which will allow us to service these markets as they grow.
Within the next five years there is potential for the business to increase in capacity to up to four or five employees, giving us the perfect platform to continually grow the business as a whole.
