The rapid pace of technological development in today's world means that if Redstack is to keep providing the same level of service to its clients, we need to always have one eye on the future.
Redstack's staff are the key to this, as they need to be aware of what the future means for our products and our clients. Everyone from the support technicians to the sales staff are invested in how these products could change in the coming years and what this would mean for the industries Redstack services.
Business Development Manager, Simon Miceli is one of Redstack's sales representatives, and is an example of how technical expertise is important to every position in the company. Simon took time out of his busy schedule to explain what he sees as the future of making things.
How will Redstack influence the future of making things?
The future of making things will be influenced by both software and physical products. As Redstack supplies and supports both, we’re in a perfect position to help our clients stay on top of developing trends.
According to Simon, there's range of solutions clients have available to them if they wish to prepare for the future.
"Depending on the application there's a number of different products out on the market," he explained.
"There's software applications, then you've got things like 3D scanning and printing, UAVs and data visualisation that all work together."
Naturally, the link between physical products and software applications will continue to strengthen, with Simon predicting that 3D printing in particular will unlock new design and prototyping solutions for a number of businesses.
"You can send a file straight to the printer and it will produce the model fully assembled," he said.
"That is definitely changing the future, there's always new applications for 3D printing."
What's the advantage of having technical sales staff?
With niche products and services like the ones Redstack provides, it's important to have sales staff with intimate knowledge of the way they function. After all, potential clients need to be confident that Redstack has the expertise to tailor a solution to their company's needs.
It's important that customers get the opportunity to engage with and test these software and product options to ensure they're the best fit for their business. Simon compares to the process with buying a car.
"When you go out and buy a car, you want to have a look at it and take it for a test drive," he begins.
"Having technical experience in the products and services that we offer allow me to do that in real time."
Customers want access to quality pre-sales resources in a timely manner, so having a sales team with technical experience means these customers get a solution as quickly as possible.
"We do proof of concepts for them. When they want to see something in real-time we can make it happen, we're working at the speed of business," said Simon.
